Contributing to our online forums requires registration. You will be required to choose a username and give a valid email address.

By registering, you are giving us permission to email you for any matter relating to our website and/or online forums.

Using our website and forums

Our website and forums are a public place. They are searchable on the internet unless you are posting in a part of them that is private to members or a group of members. By being part of the forums, you acknowledge this.

We request that you:

• Protect the identity and privacy of other people.
• Show respect to other forum members and the forum staff.
• Do not submit posts that are unlawful, harassing, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, sexually-orientated or racially offensive.
• Do not advertise or promote products or services.
• Do not spam or flood the forum. Only submit a comment once.
• Do not submit the same or similar posts multiple times.
• Keep your comments relevant to the discussion topic.
• Do not breach other people’s copyright.

User Content

By posting content on our forums, your contributions are licensed under Creative Commons. Without limiting any of those representations or warranties, we (including our moderators and administrators) have the right (though not the obligation) to, in our sole discretion, refuse or remove any content that, in our reasonable opinion, violates any of our policies or is in any way harmful or objectionable.

Cancellation or Suspension of Your Account

You may cancel your account at any time by emailing us at [email protected]. We will endeavour to close your account within 7 days.

Deleting Posts

Members cannot delete posts that have been made in our online forums. Moderators and administrators have the discretion to remove posts. This is normally only exercised in cases where there are privacy or safety concerns. Please direct your request directly to our forum moderators or administrators using the facility to flag posts.

Links to other websites

We are not responsible for the content of external websites, and links to external sites should not be taken as an endorsement of their content.

Accuracy of information

While we endeavour to ensure the information contained on our website Imperfect.love and within our forum is accurate, we do not provide any guarantee that it is. It is your responsibility to check any information that is given is correct.

Research

From time to time, research may be conducted within our online forums. By registering as a member, you acknowledge that you are aware that research may be being undertaken within the forums. You also consent to be contacted by email by the researcher(s) involved. While you may be contacted, there is no expectation that you will take part in any research. Declining to be involved in any research will not affect your membership of the Mental Health Forum in any way.

We will only use any information you provide for the purpose you gave it to the ImPerfect.love Forum or to the owners of ImPerfect.love.

If you wish to unsubscribe from the ImPerfect.love forum please email [email protected] We normally process unsubscription requests within 7 days, although usually this is a lot quicker.

We will not give or sell your personal information to anyone, unless we are required to by law or there is an issue of safety.

We believe your right to confidentiality is very important. This means that only in very unusual circumstances would it be necessary for us to contact police or other agencies about any message we have received.

Legal requirements related to confidentiality

Under UK law, ImPerfect.love cannot legally provide confidentiality under the following circumstances:

1. A message sent to or through the ImPerfect.love forum which contains specific information about a terrorist suspect or terrorist activity that will take place or has taken place in the world. This information must immediately be disclosed to the police;

2. ImPerfect.love, as owners of the forum, is forced through legal action to disclose specific confidential information; this can include legal action taken through the Data Protection Act and during criminal investigations.

Our choice to break confidentiality

Under the Data Protection Act we can choose to break confidentiality if we feel that doing so would be in the public interest or that not doing so would hinder a criminal investigation. Under very rare, extreme circumstances, we may choose to break confidentiality.

These circumstances are:

If we believe a user of our forum is in immediate danger, or a user of our forum is about to place another person in immediate danger.
